DESCRIPTION
Petroplan are looking for a Field Engineering Coordinator for 12 month assignment based in Azerbaijan. The successful candidate will be required to work a 6/2 rotation.

Key responsibilities will include:

* Interfacing with the contractor pipeline engineering group and contractor speciality groups to coordinate their at site support responsibilities.
* Ensuring works are undertaken in accordance with contract engineering requirements, per the agreed plans, procedures and specifications.
* Ensuring efficient operation of the site engineering query system. Providing interpretation of design to contractor. Reviewing and transmitting queries to Lead Pipeline Engineer in country with proposed solutions where appropriate. Coordinating timely responses within Company Engineering Team and responding to Contractor.
* Working with the contractor during the constructability and readiness phase with recommendations and the construction principles to be applied in the field.
* Participating in the responsibilities for assuring field HSE and quality requirement.
* Coordination of responsibilities for field engineering, construction and procurement.
* Assisting and supporting the Construction Manager to achieve his contract objectives.
* Promoting the quality policy & objectives and ensuring compliance.
* Demonstrating HSE participation by actively engaging the site team and construction contractors with actions that contribute to delivering on HSE expectations.
* Reviewing, endorsing, and monitoring contractor's plans, procedures and method statements and ensuring the requirements of associated inspection and test plans are adhered to.
* Participating in the weekly construction progress meetings with the PMT team and PL contractors.
* Participating in contractor's audits.
* Undertaking surveillance of the Contractor's activities.
* Receiving and reviewing site engineering queries.
* Ensuring that site engineering meetings are held and engineering requirements are fully undertaken.
* Participating in the decision process relating to the disposition of deviations and concessions to specification and codes requested by contractor.
* Ensuring the Contractor's competency assessment process is rigorously implemented.
* Interfacing with Handover and Commissioning Teams to ensure thorough punch out of systems, punch list tracking, and verification of handover quality documentation.
* Completing special assignments outside of engineering area as requested.

The ideal candidate will have:

* Extensive experience on pipeline projects involving major large diameter linepipe installations with the ability to support and coordinate the engineering aspects of the ongoing site work.
* University Degree or equivalent in Mechanical or related Engineering subject.
* Minimum of 10 years of engineering and pipeline installation experience in oil & gas construction.
* Minimum of 10 years' experience involving the process for installing cross country large bore linepipe.
* Experience and knowledge involving the installation of linepipe crossings by the horizontal direction drill and tunnel boring machine methods.
* Experience involving the installation of International pipeline projects.
* Ability to provide technical support and assurance of applicable linepipe installation standards.
* Ability to perform effectively in a team environment.
* Familiarity with International Standards which form the basis for project pipeline specifications.
* English speaking and proficient in the ability to produce quality written reports in English.
* Proficient in the use of MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
* Experience in working and living in remote camp site environments.
* Experience working in The Republic of Georgia & Azerbaijan and/or the Former Soviet Union.
