Piping Supervisor
A Piping Supervisor Job has become available in for a multinational EPC company involved in petrochemical plant construction in Secunda. The Incumbent will assist the Superintendent by planning, organising and managing all piping activities (inclusive of hydro testing of installed systems) of various crews. A Minimum of 8-10 years' experience in pipe fitting in a petro chemical environment is required. Duration: 12 Months with possibility of extension.
Key responsibilities will include:
Ensure high standards of safety and quality for all piping operations by ensuring all HSE aspects are adequately covered.
Ensure all piping targets are met timeously and accurately.
Assisting the Superintendent in all erections of boilers, piping, water wall panels and economizer/ super heater elements.
Manage and control allowable man hours for erection tasks and ensure budgets are met and improved.
Update and assist in drawing up construction schedules and properly communicate these to team members in order to ensure common understanding and goals.
Manage the time and attendance, performance and general discipline of his/ her crew daily and keep accurate and detailed records with original documents given to IR/HR.

The ideal candidate will have:
Must have at least 3 years pipe shop fabrication experience
Previous experience in this type of position on a petro chemical project will be an advantage.
Experience in hydro testing of carbon & stainless steel piping
Knowledge of PER (Pressure Equipment Regulations) and SANS 347
Able to read and interpret erection/ construction drawing fluently.
Knowledge of ASME (acceptance criteria)
Must have at least 3 years pipe shop fabrication experience
