DESCRIPTION
Our client a leader in engineering and construction services seeks to employ an experience Mechanical Supervisor to join their team on a 12 month contract to be based in Secunda, Mpumalanga

The Role:
Responsible for the mechanical erection of client site activities including cost, quality and time scheduling.

KPI's includes (but not limited to):
*Mechanical erection of site activities.
*Cost, quality and time scheduling. 

Duties and Responsibilities:
*Responsible for profit & losses.
*Manage, supervise and coordinate site activities of work groups.
*Supervise; check the execution of work and services to verify compliance with contract and technical documentation.
*Supervise, control erection planning in conjunction with the site Project Planner and propose correction measures in the event of deviations or delays from the erection schedule.
*Ensure that all required technical documentation is on site and in time to support the erection services.
*Ensure that all documentation utilised on site for activities are constantly updated.
*Ensure that all employees comply with the legal and Health Safety & Environment regulations on site.
*Arrange and coordinate regular meetings to ensure that an agreement is reached regarding all aspects of the erection work to be completed.
*Monitor the delivery of materials and advise if material is not delivered to prevent unnecessary delays.
*Investigate and report any material defects and deficiencies to all relevant suppliers. Follow up on replacements, repairs and document all additional costs.
*Investigate all incidents related insurance claims and follow up on the resolutions.
*Responsible to ensure that the quality control documentation is completed and all inspections are done.
*Arrange, perform and document all interim and final inspections of the erection work.
*Involve the quality assurance department or Construction Manager on all major inspections to be carried out.
*Prepare and follow up on the punch list (list of outstanding items).
*Ensure that the employees are suitable, qualified and assist with the correct training and certification.
*Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports including site walk down remarks.
*Maintain a daily work log which will be archived for record purposes so that a completion report can be compiled at the end of the specific job or at the end of the contract.
*Be responsible for quality and time.
*Laser alignment of pumps & motor. 

Qualifications and Experience:
*A recognized trade in the field of mechanical fitting with N3 or equivalent NQF level. 
Site supervisory course and added advantage. 
*At least 6 years' site operations exposure and experience in working in a power station, construction, engineering, refinery or similar industry.
*Attention to detail by ensuring that documents are correct in detail and content.
*Knowledge of all quality codes and standards.
*Good knowledge of MS Office including Word and Excel.
*High job demand in tight turnaround time requirement.
*Flexibility with regards to working hours.
*Highly developed supervisory skills.
*Formal Performance management system and application experience.
*Valid Driver's licence.
*Hydro testing of equipment and piping.
